Turned it on a little late… But I’ll publish on each of the commercial breaks. The newer portions will have spelling errors, and I’ll correct and add links on commercial breaks. I’m going to just post the things that strike me – not a rundown of every little thing.
Switched to E! – Live on the Red Carpet.
Maggie Gyllenhaal – interesting – nothing controversial. Unless you don’t count the out of wedlock baby thing.
Ryan Seacrest oh dear. Let’s hope he doesn’t get stupid.
200 Million + will watch. Wow. That seems like a lot, but here I am. And you too if you’re reading. I know it’s important in my industry.
Maggie’s dress is a little too tight in the waist… There’s formfitting and then too tight – but then I’m a little conservative.
Oh Ryan – a dirty side to Helen Mirren? That’s just wrong. Ewww. Good job Sheen of deflecting. I’m thinking Sheen’s a lovely man.
OK, these two women are toooooooo skinny. Debbie Matenopoulos and Giuliana DePandi – too skinny. Some gossip going on about couples. “They’ve been married quite a while now… what 5 years?” Dear Lord.
Gael Garcia Bernal… Meh – he didn’t leave an impression at all.
Portia de Rossi is lovely. Really lovely.
Ellen DeGeneres is hosting. I love her. I hope she does great (it’s her first time.) She’s nervous ’cause it’ll be live. I’m looking forward to seeing her.
John Singleton just here to support his friends – not nominated. Hoping to see Scorcese to win. Got in a shout out for a movie this summer. Seemed hungry for the attention.
Elizabeth Shue looks downright frumpy.
Al and Tipper Gore – They look like they feel a little out of place., He’s here for his film, otherwise it would seem completely out of context. Al Gore actually referenced William Hung. Good Lord.
Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels. Tammy’s so spunky and her blog is interesting. Melissa is doing a song for An Inconvenient Truth. Tammy looks great after having twins. Ryan got it right calling them “class acts.”
Portia’s dress is very elegant. I’m noticing the excessive use of my word lovely. I’ll try to stop. But Portia doesn’t look skeletal which is cool. I’m sure she’s rooting for Ellen’s turn on the host’s spot.
Jennifer Lopez – ewwww. I hate the neckline. And the hair sucks. But the whole in total looks very nice and glamorous but it is seperate things I don’t like. Hubby Mark has a weird blinking thing going on. JLo is going to be on AI. They actually Tivo it. Ryan went there with asking about the babies…
Jodi Foster is just a classy lady. Wearing Vera Wang. More fun presenting. She won’t stay for the whole thing, she runs home. She feels the Oscars gave her accomlishments in order to direct and be choosy about her work. She’s one who’s really been successful at keeping her private life private.
Wow it’s crazy out there… A ton of people on the red carpet.
Rachel Weisz is a presenter. I do NOT like her ddress. Or the necklace. Hate the hair. It just doesn’t go all together. Joining the “working mom club – difficult but been done before.”
Cameron Diaz’s dress looks like she has hotel napkins tucked into the top.
Jennifer Hudson get rid of that Jacket!! But talk about an overnight sensation!
I so hope Leo wins it. I can’t help it. But yes, the Diamond studio is mine, and there was a lot of work on that one, and I just really want it to win something. I’m not sure but I actually think Leo’s blushing!! How sweet! He’s here with his mom.
Jackie Earle Haley – Who the hell is he? And is he sick?
Helen Mirren embodies the word “class.” Even if she is flaunting the flag of another country. Granted , that’s her country, but this isn’t the Baftas. I can’t believe Ryan went with the naughty.
Spike Lee annoys me a great deal.
Kirsten Dunst – the E! commenters hated it, but I really liked her dress.
I don’t get the hype on Little Miss Sunshine. I’ve seen it – but don’t see it being Oscar worthy.
Forest Whitaker – what a lovely kind seeming gentle humble warm man.
Saw a clip of Nicole Kidman… No Keith tonight?
Cate Blanchett is another example of class.
Meryl Streep has more glamour in her than that outfit presented. Hate the outfit, and she deserves better. Her daughter was better dressed.
Well that’s it for the arrivals. I’m going to check this out, edit and then sit to watch the Oscars. Don’t know if I’ll blog it, maybe. We’ll see.
