What’s a working woman to do?

March 4, 2008 By Michele Leave a Comment

Let’s share my day with you…

Starting around 5am…

Period, oh hello!  And welcome to you exhaustion, cramps, and backache!

Joseph – I’m going to throw up.

Papa and grandma are gone for a couple days.  Where?  Playing BINGO!

Dad is long gone.

Fine.  Get everyone ready…  I can’t call in sick.  Logan to school.  Joseph comes with me, while I juggle covering for a different executive, finish tax prep, and make travel plans for two people going two places, you know, tomorrow.   While Joseph is here, on the lot, with me.

Pray for me.  The end isn’t looking pretty.

To BlogHer or Not to BlogHer

So.  I have not been able to afford to go to BlogHer in any year.  Last year was close, but then some things happened, and I wasn’t able to afford it.

This year is no different.  I think I’d be able to afford it (thank you refund) – however.  This year (in April) will be Poe and I’s 10th anniversary.  I’d really like to do something like a weekend away (sorry – he rates.)  That, however, takes an act of God – between babysitting, time of work, etc.  So…  Basically, we’ll see.  If we’re not able to make it work, I’m hoping to go to BlogHer and meet people I only know through the screen.

But, we can only afford one, not both.

Basically, this post is to say…  We’ll see.

I lurved this and thought I’d share

Humorous Pictures

Imagine

February 29, 2008 By Michele Leave a Comment

Imagine, if you will, that you’re the parent of a college student.  You’ve just gotten word that your child is in lockdown at their school in a classroom with a gun-wielding maniac.

Imagine, if you will, that you’re the college student.

Imagine, if you will, that you’re the teacher.

Imagine, if you will, that it was all a drill – you just didn’t get the memo.

It just happened.

These people thought they were going to die.  Apparently, it’s all ok since it didn’t really happen.  BS.  These people now have to get over genuinely thinking they were going to die in that moment.

At the very least two things should have occurred that didn’t:  There should have been a sit down with the teacher, not an email (he didn’t get the email.)  And there should have been a broadcast on their emergency PA system 5-10 minutes prior.  Oh, and the text alerts they were using?  Voluntary.  Only about half the students signed up.

Someone was hit with the stupid stick that day.

No More Facebook

February 28, 2008 By Michele Leave a Comment

I’m done.  I’ve deactivated my Facebook account.  It is no more!  I just couldn’t get it.  All the applications!  All the little invites!  I never could tell what the heck I was doing.  OH NOES I just sent that to everyone!

I actually was nervous every time I signed on.  Over a stupid networking site.  I decided to deactivate, ’cause c’mon people…  I’ve got enough stress in my life.

You can still find me in numerous places (see my drop down above, and the right hand side bar.)

I’m not dropping being social – just facebook.
