But aside from that, she's still completely normal

Really?

November 1, 2009 By Michele 1 Comment

It’s day one of NaBloPoMo, and I nearly screwed the pooch.  But – in under the wire at 10:40ish pm.  Phew.

Not that I have anything to say.  My back is still screwy.  Add to that we moved all the living room furniture out to get carpet in tomorrow.  Add to that, we’ll have to move all the furniture BACK in tomorrow.  I don’t think my back is ever going to forgive me.

Also – I’ve been incredibly busy with a few new clients.  One of them is incredibly demanding.  This means two things: Lack of time, and Income coming in.  That is a wonderful thing.  Theoretically.

See you tomorrow.

Day 1 of NaBloPoMo – I’m in, are you?

Announcement

October 30, 2009 By Michele 4 Comments

I have a small announcement to make…

Unfortunately, I will no longer be writing for Special Needs at Blissfully Domestic.  While I enjoy the magazine, and thinks it’s a great online resource…  I landed another client.  A paying one.  I’ll be writing on special needs parenting at this other blog.  I’m sure I could have worked at both places, but it just seemed like a conflict of interest.  And usually if your gut says “hinky” it’s best just to go with what feels like the right thing to do.  Once I get more established at this other publication, I’ll let you all know where it is.

Blurbage

The last few days have simply sucked and are still sucking because I managed to throw out my back.  Lovely that.  One never quite realizes how much one uses their back until they, say, attempt to do laundry.

Vicodin was consumed.  It was the only thing that helped with the pain (and a second dose 4 hours later was promptly rejected by my body violently.  Which did wonders for said back.

So, I’m on day 4 of pain.  Yesterday wasn’t too bad, but today is, so I’m thinking I did too much yesterday.

In other news, we’re getting carpet put into our living room on Friday.  Which means moving the furniture out.  That includes a piano, credenza, dining set, dish armoir, loveseat, recliner, and some odd and ends.  Should do WONDERS for my back.

As an aside…  I shall be attempting NaBloPoMo this year.  Care to join me?

I found this to be poignant.

Growing up, Also: Not so much

October 15, 2009 By Michele Leave a Comment

The boys are growing up a little.  Puberty feels just around the corner.

Logan loves for gel to be in his hair, and for his dad to “do” it.  Straight up and spiky preferred.  His hair takes longer than mine does.

Joseph went to school with cologne on.  He came home and said he was never ever doing it again.  He got too much attention.

Ahhhh… my son, there will come a time.
