So with all the in-laws

December 28, 2005 By Michele Leave a Comment

So with all the in-laws here, I couldn’t politely retire to the computer and write an entry. I’ll go into Christmas later. For now, all I can think of is Bandit. Yesterday, Jay and I made the decision to put him down. The appointment is today at 9:20am. I will be the one to take him. I’ll stay with him. His hind end just stopped working all together, and he wasn’t eating or drinking, and lost control of his bowels and bladder. Then this morning, he’d dragged himself onto a chair, and promptly fallen off. This time, I think he broke something. He was growling low, as cats can do – which he rarely does, and now he’s in pain. So we’ve put him into the cat carrier for everyone’s safety. This morning just reaffirmed yesterday’s decision. The problem is, I love him. I think it’s the best thing for him. That doesn’t make it suck any less.

I thought I was going

December 23, 2005 By Michele Leave a Comment

I thought I was going to come into work today and just clean up etc… I’m leaving at 1pm, and then I’m gone for nearly 2 weeks (Haleluia!), but alas that is not the case. Big blow up with the f*c*e*r* ppphhhtttt! Can’t they just get on the goddamn flight and be thankful we’re paying for it? Hell no! But at least the decisions are no longer in our hands, so I’m just awaiting said decision. I’ve made it clear that I need to know by noon or else no changes will be made. I’ll be damned if I’m staying late so the jackass can travel with his girlfriend. Boo-fucking-hoo. I’m so frustrated with these people that my head feels like its going to explode!!!! Just the prima donna attitude, while I’m making their travel arrangements, which cost more than I make in 6 months, just boggles my mind. Anyhoo, holiday preparations are going merrilly right along. I’ve got about half the gifts wrapped and it isn’t even Christmas eve! Go me! I’ve bought all the food prep, the house is clean – although I’ll touch up when I get home today. So far so good! However, the fact that I’m PMSing and then I’ll have my MIL under my roof – and then putting both moms together… I may have to wash dishes alone in the kitchen. A LOT OF DISHES!

Let me ask you something?

December 22, 2005 By Michele Leave a Comment

Let me ask you something? If you were to go to work for a major composer, one who travels all over the world – wouldn’t you think it might be a good idea to get your friggin’ passport? This idiot was supposed to go to Scotland 3 days ago. But the strike in New York happened on the day he was to pick up his passport, and none of the workers made it in to the office. He’s supposed to get it tomorrow. Whatever. I’ve only changed his travel 5 times. And another thing… If you watch kids for a living, wouldn’t you think it might make sense, if you’re taking time off, to inform the parents of said kids – prior to the day before? Just a thought. And another thing… Don’t check up on me, ’cause you’re nosy! Yes, the door is open – yes I opened it. It’s MY office – you already know I work early. Go away. I’m cranky, annoyed, tired. Perhaps I’m PMSing? Who knows. I certainly don’t. I just know that everybody needs to go away.

Something really cook happened yesterday

Something really cook happened yesterday at work! I got an award! Apparently each division picks someone for the year for Outstanding Achievement during that year. I got the award! I don’t get the official certificate until the president comes back from vacation. BUT – there was a monetary award as well, and I got that. Very hefty. Made me feel very very good.

I’m working on very few

December 20, 2005 By Michele Leave a Comment

I’m working on very few cylinders here. Logan coughed all night long the last two nights – you’d think I had a newborn the way my body is reacting. Mom is taking him to the doctor today. But I’m hanging on by a thread here at work. My eyes are bloodshot like I went on a bender last night. The cleaners are coming today. My dad finished the renovations on the kids’ room yesterday. So Jay and I spent last night cleaning out their clothes, toys, and putting everything away in their proper place. In addition, I had laundry to do, plus picking up the whole house, so they could spend the time actually cleaning, instead of picking up after us. As a result, I’ve got all the unwrapped gifts in my truck, as they were covered with blankets in my room. That’s all. My mind just officially turned off.
