But aside from that, she's still completely normal

Social Butterflies

Poe and I don’t do a whole heck of a lot outside the home. We both work. We both attend the kid stuff. He has softball for the season through work. That’s it. The rest of what we “do” is in the house hobbies.

Next week is gonna be huge man.

Tomorrow night, we’re seeing Transiberian Orchestra. So cool. A perk of working where I do. Poe and I are going with my boss and another assistant.

Thursday, of course, is Thanksgiving. Which will entail sweat pants, food, and football. I refuse to do anything fancy this year. The centerpiece? Logan’s kindergarten turkey he made out of a pinecone. Mom is making the turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberries. I’m making corn, rolls, pumpkin pie, and mashed potatoes (using Ree’s recipe.) Just us, and my parents.

Then Friday, my best friend is coming over to stay with the boys, and Poe and I are going on a real date. With Joseph’s issues, babysitters are far and few between, and she (correctly) assumed we hadn’t been out together since my mother got really sick, back in March. Woohoo!

I’m a little excited.

my time trick

November 18, 2007 By Michele Leave a Comment

Today is Sunday and there’s some things I have to get done, like grocery shopping and picking up the house. So, there’s a mindgame I play with myself. If I just play, then I feel guilty ’cause I’m just horrible wife and mother. If I just work, then I start feeling resentful and martyrish. So – this is what I do. Hour on, hour off. I play at whatever for an hour, then I work for an hour. On the weekends this works really great, ’cause the stuff that needs to get done does, and still feel like I got some weekend. During the week I don’t do that. It’s come home and do everything that needs doing each night after work, and depending on what Poe has already done, then it’s play time. Anyway – Poe and I both do this. I might tell him, “It’s an hour on hour off day for me.” He knows that stuff will get done. It just works for us.

I just re-read this, and I guess I ought to say what I do in “play” time… I play warcraft, or watch dvd’s, or do needle work, or I read, or do my blog/youtube/myspace stuff.

domesticity

Thought I’d be all domestic today, and put dinner in the crockpot. Homemade chicken corn chowder. Set it on, and forgot about it.

At dinner time, I found out I never plugged the darn thing in.

We ate McDonalds.

You know what today is

So. This whole nablopomo thing? Not so much. I mean I haven’t missed a day or anything, I just am having trouble coming up with anything at all today.

Two things.

One. So help me, the next time I put “V” as in “vacation” on my timecard, I want it to be because someone is putting an umbrella in my drink.

Two. Go watch this video.
