But aside from that, she's still completely normal

Hot Cross Buns

June 9, 2009 By Michele 2 Comments

I just got home from a concert of Joseph’s 3rd grade class. Three classes, playing their recorders. I suppose less is more in describing that one. Heh.

I’ll be uploading videos onto my YouTube account today maybe. We’ll see. Or maybe Vimeo. Last time I tried YouTube, it hated me. I won’t post it here though – I just want the final product in the clouds as well as on my hard drive. Got a ton of photos to go through as well – need to picnic and flickr those.

We still haven’t heard from Poe’s job prospect. They did call and tell him that they haven’t forgotten him, they’re just still thinking about it (they would be adding a whole department just for him.) Understandable. But itchy.

El Dinero es nunca. No Money. Going to use a credit card for groceries this week. We don’t use credit anymore, so you know we’re desperate. But, God provides. Faith. I’m trying to. I keep trying to refocus my thoughts on God and His promises. I won’t pretend that it’s not a struggle.

But, on a lighter note – here’s a couple of pictures of what we’ve been up to.

My Pain in the Neck

July 16, 2008 By Michele Leave a Comment

Logan - July 08

The evidence that Logan, is indeed, a pain in the neck.  I took this yesterday morning, while it was still dark.  The flash didn’t make him even stir.  That, right there, is MY side of the bed.  The pillow on the floor to the side is mine.  It goes, you know, where his feet are.  Clearly, at some point, this was preferable to his own bed.

Truthiness

March 20, 2008 By Michele 5 Comments

I decided that I’m woman enough to show you all my true self. As part of the Self-Portrait Truthiness project at Flickr.

I am a real woman. Yes I wear makeup and jewelry. I groom. Heck, I even shower! But in the morning all you get is me – morning breath and all.

But, my husband sees this every morning and hasn’t run away screaming into the dark morning hours yet, so I know he loves me anyway.

Sweetney had this to say:

I post this for two reasons. One, I think we’re all very good at glossing over and covering up, and let’s face it, that’s kind of lame and cowardly. We all promote our best head-shots, our most flattering angles, and stuff under the rug the reality of what we REALLY look like without tweaking and all manner of artificial support. I’m no different, of course: I edit and select all of the images I post here, and am loathe to publish photos that make me look less-than-attractive(-ish). But I’m not a head-shot, and my life most certainly isn’t lived in soft lighting, and truth be told I rarely (okay, almost never) wear makeup. This is pretty much who I am. Internet, meet my everyday reality, in all its haggard ingloriousness.

And two, I’d like to meet YOU in your stripped-down, unvarnished loveliness, as well. So I’ve created a handy-dandy flickr group called Self-Portrait Truthiness, and I invite each of you to post one or more photos there of yourself as “the real you.” Interpret that as you will, bearing in mind that honesty and keeping-it-real is the goal. The truth will set us free… or at least be entertaining for a few days. snort.

So let’s do this thing! I double dog dare you. Yeah, I said it. Whatcha gonna do, punk?

I was double dog dared.

But, to protect your small children, I’ve put the photo below the fold. Click if you’re willing.

This photo is significant for two reasons.

  1. How hot is my husband?!
  2. This should tell you I finally received replacement cords for my digital camera, which has been missing since last July.
