Help Me!

October 3, 2007 By Michele Leave a Comment

OKAY! To any and all readers out there, I officially need your help.

I’m about to launch a problog on a network. I’m not going to mention it by name/network until I officially launch. But, the content will be geared towards parents of disabled children, from minor learning disabilities all the way on up to children in a vegetative state – the whole gamut. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and a network finally bit. I didn’t want to make that the focus here for two reasons. One, it deserves it’s own blog, rather than bits among my personal journal. Two, it deserves a much larger readership than my blog currently gets. Us parents of children with special needs NEED their own space – to get info, to rant, etc. I’m very anxious and excited about this.

Here’s where I need your help. I need a title for the blog. Send me your suggestions!! Via comment or via email at sparksfley at gmail dot com. Fire away!!

I’m so smart

I figured out how to cron, schedule, and change the permissions on the cron… What does that mean? It means I figured out all by my pretty little self how to program my MT to schedule entries.

I can schedule ahead! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!

I’m sure I should write an entry.

So we’re slowly but surely unpacking before the renovating begins. Not very newsworthy.

Poe’s brother, M, was in an accident. It was serious – a gasoline accident that gave him 3rd degree burns on his hand, and then 2nd up to his elbow, and caught his face a little. He seems to be healing nicely. Whether he’ll ever work again is the question. It was bad enough that the question came up of amputation. So far so good, but this means physical therapy, possible grafts, etc. He works in manual labor. He has to have his hands. The future’s in God’s hands, but I’m very curious as to how this whole thing is going to turn out.

And there’s been other drama in our lives as well… My game guild had a bit of a split. A bunch of high levels left. There was definitely some duplicity going on. I know that Poe and I were specifically lied to. So those people went off and created their own guild – and good riddance. But that means we basically have to start ours from scratch again. There’s certainly a lot more to it than this, but this isn’t a gaming blog, and I don’t feel like explaining the intricacies. But the bottom line is, this is Poe and I’s main hobby so that’s been taking some time to rectify. It may be a game, true, but these are still real people we’re dealing with.

Things are slowly getting back to normal. Although it’ll all go to hell in a handbasket once school starts, and we’ll start all over creating new routines and such. Hopefully, I’m back to stay, and I’m happy to report that I found the nail clippers, and I again have more than one pair of shoes.

Kinda Sorta Back

I say sorta kinda ’cause I’m in a bit of a fog. A sort of brainstorm wash of what’s doing…

Parents are involved in a lawsuit. For obvious reasons, I can’t go into it. My personal take? Someone (not related to me) did not plan properly for retirement.

Involved in that lawsuit on a personal note – I am now in charge of finding things on the internet. Because Dad’s computer is not good enough apparently. And you know, ’cause I’m a lawyer.

uh huh.

Would LOOOOVE to see some of the bucks owed me.

If Poe doesn’t start taking care of his teeth, I may pull them out myself with pliers. Trust me – it’d be a lot less expensive.

“Joseph is having trouble with the transition.” That’s my politically correct assertion that if he doesn’t shape the hell up, I’ll kick his ass.

Logan is his normal left field funny self. Since we now have a fridge with an ice/water dispenser, he insists on “crusty” (crushed) ice in his water. I think my children think I have a hearing problem, since when they talk I say, “Eh?”

There are some anniversaries going around. I don’t want to talk about it, but it’s hovering behind me in a helicopter brain buzz.

Work is simply in the way of my life at the moment.

The children have dentists, pediatricians, and cardiologists to go to before school starts.

And you know, I moved. Which is taking much longer to complete then it should have. Because the 4 months notice my father had to pack wasn’t enough. And the week I took off work, meaning REALLYTHISWEEKDUDE, didn’t motivate him.

I apparently no longer own nail clippers. And only have one pair of shoes. And only can find clothes for 4 days. You know work is 5 days a week. It’s getting interesting.

Oh, and the children are NOT fans of the new ability to say, “Go to your room!”

But the parents are so all over that.

Don’t got it

I’m grasping for an entry here.

Nothin’.

I got nothin’.

I looked at headlines, and nothing grabbed my eye.

My daily quote? Not pertaining to me right now.

My life? Still moving, still end of school year activities, still crazy. Nothing new or interesting on that front yet. Except that I hate limbo. No news there.

I’ve got a potential new blog coming, with a different company this time. But I won’t know for sure until next week, so that’s not news yet.

I got nothin’.
