Loganisms

October 30, 2007 By Michele Leave a Comment

Logan: Can I wear my new jacket?

Poe: It’s a “hoodie.”

Logan: A “cosie!”

Poe: No, a “hoodie.”

Logan: That’s what I said.

That child has not called it a hoodie yet. It’s his cosie. And I’m inclined to agree with him.

Help Me!

October 3, 2007 By Michele Leave a Comment

OKAY! To any and all readers out there, I officially need your help.

I’m about to launch a problog on a network. I’m not going to mention it by name/network until I officially launch. But, the content will be geared towards parents of disabled children, from minor learning disabilities all the way on up to children in a vegetative state – the whole gamut. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and a network finally bit. I didn’t want to make that the focus here for two reasons. One, it deserves it’s own blog, rather than bits among my personal journal. Two, it deserves a much larger readership than my blog currently gets. Us parents of children with special needs NEED their own space – to get info, to rant, etc. I’m very anxious and excited about this.

Here’s where I need your help. I need a title for the blog. Send me your suggestions!! Via comment or via email at sparksfley at gmail dot com. Fire away!!

This is DADDY’s JOB

Logan: You see those things on the trees? They’re poison.
Joseph: No they’re not.
Logan: Mom, are they?
Me: Nope, they’re not poison, it’s how they make more trees, like Mommy and Daddy made more humans with you two.
Joseph: How?!
Me: I just stepped right in that one didn’t I?

Innisbrook Wrap

September 26, 2007 By Michele Leave a Comment

OOOOOOoooooookay…. So the “school fundraising season” has begun.

And since we’re hermits and don’t know anyone, I’m reaching out to you people. Until Thurs., Oct. 4th, you can order stuff from Innisbrook Wrap and Helen Grace Chocolates and even more. The chocolates are pretty good.

I’m not going to give out their info here, so… If you’re interested, please comment or send an email to sparksfley at gmail dot com and I’ll give you all the pertinents.

And thank you.

Parenting Help Requested

August 1, 2007 By Michele 1 Comment

I normally don’t ask for parenting help… We’ve struggled on our own for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that our kids don’t fit the “norm,” and many normal things didn’t work.

I now have a puzzle. Logan has been getting up in the night. He’s straight up sleepwalking – because he needs to pee. Last night, Poe caught him peeing in the hallway outside his room. He does not know what he’s doing, and he’ll let us lead him to the bathroom if we see him up – but I’m afraid of where he might be going if this happens when Poe and I are already in bed. He has no other potty problems to speak of.

I was thinking of maybe getting him out of bed, and walking him to the bathroom before we go to sleep at night.

What do you think? Any other suggestions?
