The Legend of the Sand Dollar

August 21, 2006 By Michele 1 Comment

I’ve never heard this before… I can see where it would be really cool for Christmas and Easter. If you click through on the link to the poem, there’s a photo of a split sand dollar.

– Warning – Poem contains Christian content. I’m a Christian, but I always like to warn people if I’m posting something inherently religious.

The Legend of the Sand Dollar

There’s a lovely little legend
that I would like to tell,
of the birth and death of Jesus,
found in this lowly shell.

If you examine closely,
you’ll see that you find here,
four nail holes and a fifth one,
made by a Roman’s spear.

On one side the Easter lily,
its center is the star,
that appeared unto the shepherds
and led them from afar.

The Christmas Poinsettia
etched on the other side,
reminds us of His birthday,
our happy Christmastide.

Now break the center open,
and here you will release,
the five white doves awaiting,
to spread Good Will and Peace.

This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me,
to help us spread His Gospel,
through all Eternity.

Found this at Sylvie’s Place. And yes. I cried.

Read this inspirational story first, then watch the video. (taken from a post on Judy’s Book)

“I try to be a good father. Give my kids mulligans. Work nights to pay for their text messaging. Take them to swimsuit shoots. But compared with Dick Hoyt, I suck.

Eighty-five times he’s pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in marathons. Eight times he’s not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars–all in the same day.

Cool Fashion Website…

August 20, 2006 By Michele Leave a Comment

Now that my kids are older, I’m finding my online interests to be more varied as a woman in addition to mom stuff.

I found this website – actually she has two so I’ll link to both, but my preference is the Bella Chic Shop – as I don’t live in Atlanta. The Bella website is about fashion and beauty tips in a blog format. It’s clean neat and simple. I think it’s her blog companion to the Chic Shop. Take a look if you’re interested in such things.

Question on Firefox

August 19, 2006 By Michele 2 Comments

Okay… Help! This may be resolved when I do a redesign. However… This site looks all funky on Firefox which I just downloaded. Mainly it’s not recognizing the header boundary, and not automatically adjusting the sidebar margins to fit the contents. I haven’t a clue how to fix this. Advice?

Need a Laugh?

I’m sorry, but this is funny… Have a grudge against an old boyfriend? Go add his name and a couple of reasons for breaking up with him and Ghetto Queen will sing about it. Break up with your mate by song – personalized just for you! It made me giggle.
