I received this in my email – and I thought, oh Heck, why not. I’ve heard of the organization and others involved. So I’m just going to cut and past a slightly edited version of the email sent to me.

Hi,

I thought the following might be of interest to you and your readers. I work with an organization called Oxfam America, which is a non-profit organization that works to fight worldwide poverty through long-term relief efforts. They have recently launched an online gift catalog called Oxfam America Unwrapped, http://www.oxfamamericaunwrapped.com.

Unwrapped allows people to purchase unique and fun gifts such as a camel, a crocodile, peace books for kids, planting 50 trees, testing for a clean environment, investing in a coffee cooperative, and dozens of other representative gifts, donations from which go to fund Oxfam America programs worldwide.

When someone purchases one of these representative gifts on behalf of a friend or loved one, the recipient will receive a card that states what has been purchased in their honor and how it goes to help people around the world.

Attached are a couple of examples of cards that someone might receive, and the link for the catalog is: http://www.oxfamamericaunwrapped.com. Please take a look and browse the catalog or for more info on Oxfam America, you can visit: www.oxfamamerica.org.

I hope you can include Oxfam America Unwrapped on your site. People can also support the cause by sending a cute and free e-card to their friends from http://www.oxfamamericaunwrapped.com.

Unwrapped is really a great way to do some seemingly effortless, but truly meaningful shopping this holiday season.

Thanks,
(Edited – as I don’t know if she wants her contact info splattered all over the internet)

Here’s the photo example she attached:
