The Parenting Equation

X + Y + A = REFEREE

X = Parents
Y = No school, no daycare, no summer school
A = 2 boys, 2 years apart

Finally…

I am finally, FINALLY, starting to feel as though I’m returning to the land of the living. Thank God. Seriously.

You probably didn’t notice, but we didn’t do What Would We Do Wednesdays ~ now to be known as WWWDW. The reasons?

  • Not ONE of you has sent in a question.
  • I was dying.
  • My counterpart is off galavanting along the east coast “working.”
  • Did I mentiong the dying?

So, it’ll have to wait until next week.

BTW – Single Mothers?? SOOOOOOO get my respect. I had no parents here to help, husband on a work trip, me sick as a dog, and two kids to take care of. By myself. With a fever. Not to mention Poe forgot to put the trash on the street before he left. Leaving me to do it. I don’t do trash. Kitty litter and trash = Poe’s job. As well as bug killing, but that’s just, you know, of course. Anyway – I don’t know how you moms do it. I really don’t. I mean, I survived, but I thought my head was going to spin and have a pea soup moment. I’m not worthy, I bow to you all.

There’s a 4 year old inside me, and she hurts…

For the last month or so, I haven’t been visiting the adoption boards as I once did. I haven’t been moving forward in the search for the oldest sister. I haven’t done much of anything in particular since finding my youngest sister. I did send the letter to my brother (althought I haven’t heard anything). I did send the adoption waiver to the state for my oldest sister’s file. But I know where she is and who she is, and yet, I haven’t moved on it.

The only thing I can think of is that finding my youngest sister was so overwhelming and BIG to me that I’ve wanted to soak that in first.

I don’t have much to say… I’m very tired. Which I believe to be in direct correlation to our first heat wave. I’ve been productive today, so I’m letting my sloth self out. I still have to do the bills, but I already know we hemmoraged money this week.

And just so we’re clear: I. HATE. STUDENT. LOANS.

The house is cleaned up, and Joseph was coaxed into doing 2 whole homework packets.

Blech. I hate being hot.

I am a doctor now…

This weekend had a bit of suckage… We had to bomb the house for fleas. We’ll have to see if it will actually work. I’ll post a review of the product here, once I’m sure of the results. But it was a major pain in the ass. No one can be in the house, so all of us went to my parents. Including the cat. Oh the joy for my mom – who hates cats. Jay then took all of our clothes and bedding to the laundromat to be washed at the same time. Not to mention the covering of things, and the protection of things etc. Jay and I were terribly exhausted and went to bed early. Not too much of a surprise.

Logan has a strange rash on him.
