Game 6

July 29, 2006 By Michele Leave a Comment

My food plans for the day…

Well – caffeine got me through the morning, since I needed to get up at 5:30 am to participate. I forgot completely to eat breakfast. Poe has gone to get the family lunch. For dinner, I have no idea, but since I’ll be having a big lunch, I’ll be eating light… Maybe some snackies? I’m not sure. I’m having caffeine or sugar free energy drinks, and drinking water in between. I also have red licorice for overnight tonight. I’m usually asleep at that time, and I doubt my medication will be at full capacity, so I have the licorice in case the urge to smoke gets too bad.

I just want to space it all out so I don’t feel gross.

Meanies

You know, I thought about whether or not I should link to this person or not. I’ve decided to. I’m discussing Discussing Dooce at the moment.

I do not understand the phenomenon that is Dooce myself. But I’m definitely one of her readers. I identify with her struggles. I identify with her triumphs. As for putting her whole family out there on the web? Well and so what? Aren’t we all to varying degrees of anonymity? And if Leta is embarrassed when she’s older? My idea – which I’m sure Heather has already thought of – would be to write her very OWN blog. And you know what? That would be okay too.

And Dooce IS a phenomenon… She has her own verb! I’ve been Dooced! I’ve used the term myself.

My point is this… Who cares if she has comments. Who cares if she doesn’t interact with the blogging “community?” That’s her freakin’ choice. And considering what’s out there – I’m not sure I’d want to communicate either.

I just don’t understand the need for a whole site to knock one person. I mean how hard would it be to just not read?

The good things that happen

I have now stopped smoking for 3 days, 12 hours, 11 minutes, 45 seconds. That translates into 70 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $16.97! I have increased my life expectancy by 5 hours, 50 minutes, 48 seconds.

At 20 minutes after quitting:
blood pressure decreases
pulse rate drops
body temperature of hands and feet increases.

At 8 hours:
carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal
oxygen level in blood increases to normal

At 24 hours:
chance of a heart attack decreases

At 48 hours:
nerve endings start regrowing
ability to smell and taste improve

Game 4 & A Special Request

July 29, 2006 By Michele 1 Comment

Game 4: My favorite animal… In general is a horse. In specific, is my cat Sassy.

Horses in general are just such intelligent magestic animals, and each individual horse has such a unique personality!

Sassy is named for her personality. She’s funloving and affectionate. And she sleeps with me every night. And I didn’t want to get so attached.

Special Request: Dirty Butter asked me to post this link to a post on her site… It’s important to her to help this girl. Go check it out and see if you have ny ideas where she can find this special item.
