ants!

July 29, 2006 By Michele 1 Comment

I have ants! it’s 6:55 am, and I can’t do a thing about it.

I’m going to have to post this and then run the the store myself in order to actually get these killed, because my husband won’t get up. And why should he? I’m up! I can take care of everything. Even though I’m doing this and HE freakin’ picked the charity!

No, no, it’s ok. You sleep in, I’ll take care of the infestation, the breakfasts, and the kids who got up 2 hours early while you get your beauty sleep. it’s NO PROBLEM!

This is going to be harder than I thought. Every half hour comes quick!! So, hear’s an update on my smoking, until I get into the groove of this thing…

I have now stopped smoking for 3 days, 8 hours, 24 minutes, 36 seconds. That translates into 67 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $16.24! I have increased my life expectancy by 5 hours, 35 minutes, 2 seconds.

I have to somehow get through today and tonight without smoking – an added bonus challenge!

I’m just waking up, and this is my first post for Blogathon – and I therefore have no idea what to write. For goodness sake it’s 5:45am!

Blech.

Anyhoo…

Let’s just give an introduction into Blogathon and who I’m sponsoring as my first official post. Then I won’t feel like I have to rehash it on the next 47 of them.

The first annual event occurred in 2001, when Cat invited friends and other bloggers to join her in her sleepless marathon. Over a hundred participants stayed awake on July 28 and 29, some doing so in spectacular fashion: there were virtual mix tapes, physical collages, shoes aplenty, and even dreams for the sleepy. Altogether, bloggers raised over $20,000 for 77 different charities in 2001 and garnered even more attention than Cat had on her own the year before, prompting her to confirm Blogathon’s perennial nature: 2001’s success outstripped all my expectations, so we’re here for good.”

For today – I’m blogging for Fisher House.

Supporting America’s military in their time of need, we provide “a home away from home” that enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time — during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.

So… You can still Sponsor Me! I don’t bite. And you can do so all the way through 48 hours after the event. The whole purpose is, after all, to raise money for our chosen organizations.

You’ll be seing a whole new entry here every half hour for 24 hours. I look forward to it.

So far I have $175 in sponsorship for the blogathon! Thank you!

You can sponsor all the way through 48 hours after the event. Soooooooooo – You have plenty of time to sponsor! Please do. It’s a great cause and would help people in uniform be with their families in their time of greatest need.
