Jumping…

September 25, 2006 By Michele Leave a Comment

Okay, so I’m gonna try this weight thing. Again. This is the 3,569,852.5th time.

I’ve joined up with the Deep End of the Pool. They’ve extended the deadline to join to September 30th, so it’s not too late. No, there’s no membership fee – HOWEVER – you do have to pay up $5 to the pool if you maintain or gain at weigh in each week. That money will be handed to a winner (or two) at the end (in December). Join. Please. Do your health (and knees and back) a favor and swim with the rest of us as we get healthy.

Chinese Herb Usage

August 30, 2006 By Michele Leave a Comment

Okay… So the doctor told me a couple things… The gynecologist that is. She wants me on a certain amount of calcium, which I now am (through antacid instead of through a calcium supplement, strangely enough. My supplement didn’t have enough. Odd.), Iron, multi-vitamin, and fish oil. I think I’m cool on the fish oil tablets, and on the calcium. I have to look up exactly how much iron I need o be taking. There isn’t any iron in my regular multivitamin, and I’m not sure exactly how much I should taking. Anyone know?

Anyway… I’ve been looking into some more holistic approaches… I suppose I should qualify that. More holistic approaches in my ongoing day to day kind of maintenance. I find I’m not very holistic in times of crises.

My point is this. Has anyone ever used Chinese Herbs and Alternative Remedies? Click the link for a store example – although I find it strange that it’s caucasian people on the front advertising Chinese herbs. Um. anyway. I’ve “heard” good things, but then again, not from real people who have experienced the usage. Always friend of a friend type stuff. What’s your experience with the usage? Work? Too well? Not at all? Can a layman (like myself) carefully experiment? Let me know, trusty innernets…

Question on Tests

This falls into the TMI category… Probably more so for guys, rather than ladies. You’ve been warned. Ladies I have a “female” question for you below the fold…

Appointment of the Day

August 17, 2006 By Michele 1 Comment

I have to go the gynecologist today. Oh the joy. This is a brand new one, which means I also have to go through my entire gynecological history which is long and varied. Plus… Due to what I call my “birth defect,” what Poe calls my “freakiness,” and what the doctors call a “congenital abnormality,” I get two pap smears. Furthering the joy.

I think we should have a website with all the euphemisms for going to the gynecologist. Like they do for masturbation, sex, and penises (peni?) (brace yourself for the google hits). You know like “slapping the salami?” I have NO idea… Like… “Opening the hoo hoo?” No?

Lets make a game of it!! Comment, and let’s see how many we can come up with.

Cravings!

August 11, 2006 By Michele 1 Comment

Good Lord I want a cigarette. The cravings are really bad today. All I want is a frickin’ cigarette. I don’t have any at all, so that’s a good thing. But I don’t have any licorice, gum, or anything else either, so I’m just sitting here gnashing my teeth. Ugh.
